Loving Norfolk... top tips for a romantic visit

Planning a visit? Norfolk is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic break with its pretty flint-built cottages, stunning scenery with the Broads, the coast and the countryside all within touching distance and, of course, your foodie heaven at The Ingham Swan. So, here’s our Top 5 Romantic Moments …

1) First, we’d recommend the delicious Ingham Swan Taster Menu reflecting our cast-iron commitment to seasonality with a locally-inspired menu embracing the freshest Norfolk produce and our luxury accommodation where you can relax and unwind in a bespoke ensuite room followed by a carefully curated breakfast to set you up for the day …

2) Spoil yourselves with a spot of retail therapy amidst Norwich’s ancient streets.

3) Time to take in those Norfolk views … don’t miss St Helens Church in Ranworth, known as The Cathedral of the Broads for its stunning views from the top of the tower or head to Happisburgh to see the famous candy-striped Lighthouse – the oldest working Light in East Anglia.

4) With a coastline stretching more than 90 miles from Great Yarmouth in the south right up to Hunstanton on The Wash, a beach walk is a must and you’ll be spoiled for choice. The Ingham Swan is less than 10 minutes from the long sandy beach at Sea Palling or head to the traditional seaside resort of Cromer, famous for its Victorian Pier with an “end of the pier” Show every Summer and Winter.

5) “Messing about in boats” – why not enjoy a boat trip on the Broads, try stand-up paddle boarding at Whitlingham Country Park or take a river-bank walk. Norfolk is home to some rare chalk-fed rivers – a habit haven for a variety of flora and fauna. The Ant, the Bure, the Thurne, the Waveney, the Wensum and the Yare feed the Broads National Park and flow out to sea at Breydon Water.

If you’d like to make a grand gesture (maybe even “pop the question”) we can help you create the most memorable of moments…. we can even arrange a scenic helicopter flight along the coast with our good friends at Saxon Air.
