Norfolk is food-led destination

Regular Farmer’s Markets and foodie events take place every week all over Norfolk offering the opportunity to meet and buy direct from the farmer or producer and visitors will also love to explore the numerous local Farm Shops, specialist food shops and even distilleries.

Everybody knows the infamous Cromer Crab – and they’re truly delicious.  It’s said that they’re so good due to living and feeding in the shallow waters of the unique chalk reef just off the coast.  But did you know that Norfolk’s also famous for other seafood too.  Don’t miss “Stewkey Blues” – that’s Stiffkey Cockles!  They get their colour from their muddy sand habitat and they’re delicious simply boiled and dusted with pepper and vinegar.  Or, Brancaster Mussels – fabulous served in a wine, cream and garlic sauce. Our customers love our local lobster dishes - pictured below.

But Norfolk is also home to numerous other food producers too – including cheese, bread, meat, preserves and so much more.  There’s the famous Norfolk Black Turkey and Norfolk also produces some excellent Game and you’ll find seasonal venison, pheasant and pigeon.

Norfolk has earned itself a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its restaurants, pubs and cafés.  In addition to The Ingham Swan why not try our sister restaurant…

The Wildebeest, a Michelin-recommended Restaurant in the pretty village of Stoke Holy Cross just south of Norwich.
