Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Norfolk isn’t just a summer beach holiday destination!  We may be biased but we think it’s beautiful any time of the year; with something special to see, do and TASTE.  Wake up to a sparkling, frosty morning filled with wonder and head out to discover a Norfolk Winter Wonderland.  Here’s just two of our favourite walks.

·       The Norfolk Wildlife Trust Reserve at Hickling Broad is just a short drive with clear, still, waters and crisp views across the Broad. Thousands of birds migrate to the Norfolk every Winter and at Hickling you may see a Crane, a Marsh Harrier, a Kingfisher or even an otter.

·       Head just a few miles down the coast to Horsey where hundreds of Grey Seals arrive every Winter to give birth to their pups.  Around 50% of the world’s Grey Seal population live around the British coast and in 2018 more than 2,000 pups were born at Horsey.  Watched over by Friends of Horsey Seals volunteers, it’s truly an incredible sight – not to be missed.

Then, why not relax in our 15th Century Coaching Inn and warm yourself with a memorable meal and great company
